Five Indie Rock Bands Worth Listening To

If you're an indie rock lover like I am, there's an abundance of great music out there, and there's sometimes more than I have time to keep up with. This is a great thing, as a wide selection of great music is something I welcome with open arms. I'd like to share a few bands with you whose music I enjoy, as maybe you'll stumble onto something new as a result of reading this article.

5. Attic Lights. This band produces addicting power pop that will stay in your head for days. Hailing from Scotland, they're very under recognized, and I do believe it's a matter of time before that changes.

4. Bon Iver. An American indie folk master, his debut For Emma, Forever Ago was a masterpiece. He composed the whole thing alone in a cabin in Wisconsin, and every detail is beautiful.

3. Air. This French indie electronica duo has been making music for over a decade now, and their space influenced lounge music is simply beautiful. They just released a new album that I'd definitely recommend checking out.

2. Mumford and Sons. Great indie folk, this band of four that hails from London has taken the indie rock world by storm in late 2009 with their debut album. The presence of a banjo makes this band truly unique.

1. Dirty Projectors. I couldn't even begin to explain their sound without you hearing it yourself, but the completely original and unconventional chord progressions and harmonies are truly one of a kind.
